Mount Norquay Ride

15 km, 300m elevation
This ride represents our local hill climb. At only 7 km one-way it is a short ride, but 12 switchbacks and 300m of elevation gain allow you to push hard with vertical for a 30-minute quality workout. Head down and do it again if you have the time, or head out to Vermillion Lakes for some scenic views. Can also be added to the end of a Bow Valley Parkway ride for a strong finish.

Directions from Banff townsite:

  • Head towards Trans-Canada highway out of Banff on Mount Norquay Road

  • Keep going straight, right over the highway overpass, and all the way up to Mount Norquay!

  • Optional: When you come back down from Mount Norquay, cross the highway, then take the first right onto Vermillion Lakes road. This is a relatively flat and low-traffic road past Vermillion Lakes. If you’re feeling energetic you can carry on out to the Bow Valley Parkway ride.
