The views from this road are some of the most iconic in Banff, with multiple lakes and views of Mount Rundle. This is a relatively easy ride that includes section of bike path and a slow-speed-limit road. This is also the first section of the Bow Valley Parkway Ride to Lake Louise.

Directions from Banff Townsite:

  • From location in Banff, head towards Mount Norquay Road out of town. There is a bike path along the left hand side of Mount Norquay Road you can follow.

  • Before the Trans-Canada highway, turn left on Vermillion Lakes Rd.

  • At the end of the road, you can continue on the Legacy Trail. This continues approx. 2km before connecting to Highway 1A
